This Brief History follows the story of a little brother farting in his sister’s room, much to her annoyance. The imagery is a reimagined combination of Nosferatu directed by F.W. Murnau (1922)[1], Man With a Movie Camera directed by Dziga Vertov (1929)[2] and For the Term of His Natural Life directed by Norman Dawn (1927)[3]. The dialogue features the voice talents of my children with extra foley from filtered voices and household items. The soundtrack began as looped samples from Hold It In by Bino Ridaux (2020)[4], Where’s Your Head At? by Basement Jaxx (2001)[5] and Simon Says by Pharoahe Monch (1999)[6]. However, due to the constraint imposed on copyrighted music, the soundtrack was later composed in Apple Garageband. The soundtrack continues to have a hip hop beat to reflect the brother’s rebelliousness. One extra vocal was sampled from an old (royalty free) radio advertisement for cigarettes[7].
